Dyana Thompson PMHNP-BC is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who has been working in the field of mental health for over 10 years. She graduated with a BSN from William Paterson University in 2000 and received an MSN degree in Clinical Trials and Research Management from Drexel University in 2020. She received her PMHNP certification in 2020. Dyana is also trained in advanced perinatal psychopharmacology and is perinatal mental health certified through Postpartum Support International.
Dyana co-founded The Perinatal Mental Health Program at the Valley Health System. Prior to becoming an APN, Dyana worked as the manager for the Valley Home Care Butterflies Program for pediatric palliative care and hospice. She is also a provider with the Maternal Family Center and Outpatient Clinic at Care Plus NJ in Bergen County, NJ. She sat on the Case Review Team of the Fetal Infant Mortality Review Program. She was also affiliated with the combined Community Action Team and Perinatal Bereavement Committee Meeting with the Northern NJ Partnership of Maternal Child Health.
Dyana works with adult and perinatal populations and treats a wide variety of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, mood, and psychotic disorders. She is skilled in providing a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental therapeutic approach to her patients and enjoys helping patients in a collaborative manner to assist them in their growth, development, and wellness.
